On Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to help out some fellow photographers, Jacob King and his wife Heather, with one of their weddings.  When he told me the wedding was at Fair Park in Dallas, TX.  I was really curious to see where the venue was.  We go to the state fair almost every other year, and I had never seen the Texas Discovery Gardens…well, I was blown away by how beautiful everything was!  I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a garden wedding in Dallas, TX.  It was absolutely gorgeous, and the weather held out for us (it looked like rain on Saturday morning) and we had a beautiful day of shooting.  The gorgeous couple, Polly and Damien, were so sweet and soooo much fun!  I am still going through all of the photos from Saturday so I just wanted to post a quick sneak peak of some of the details from the day.  I absolutely loved their colors…black, white, and lime!  So much fun, thanks again Jacob for letting me tag-a-long!

I loved the shadows and moodiness of this shot!details1

So after some planning and building, this summer I decided to give a raised-bed garden a try.  Our family uses a lot of fruits and vegetables, so I thought this would be a really cool thing for the kids to do too!  When I was younger we lived kinda out in the country and we always had a vegetable garden growing up.   I have always remembered how much fun I used to have in the garden and the excitement that comes from being able to pick the vegetables that you have worked so hard to make grow.  I really want my kids to be able to experience that, because I know that they will love it!   The boys and I planted our seeds about two weeks ago and finally we have some sprouts!  The kids were so excited and it’s so cute to see them because they can’t wait to check on their plants every morning.  We’ll see how this little garden grows….I will keep you guys updated!

We also got some strawberry plants from the local home store that we potted, the boys have already had a few fresh strawberries…

Planted some blueberry bushes too…they’re not ripe yet, so the boys are patiently waiting!

So I am just finishing up editing the rest of this family session and I ran across these photos that I just HAD to post.  Miss B was just soooo happy to be in front of the camera it made my job a breeze!  It is always funny to me that I choose my faves and post them as a sneak peak the same day as the session.  Then it always happens that while I am editing I find photos that I looked over at first and end up just loving those photos…well it is happened again!  I loved this whole series, especially in black and white, so I thought that I would share…
