Archive for September, 2009

I scheduled out the month of September to take a short break from shooting weddings to work on some of my editing and orders…and partially because I was expecting lots of newborn and baby sessions!  And I am totally ok with that because, well, I love babies!

So I did a session for Miss T and her big brother Mr G, last week and I had a blast.  Miss T pretty much slept throughout the entire session, which made it easy on me :)   , and big brother did a great job for me as well.  Here are a couple quick faves from my session with them…

Big brother was a little camera shy at first with me, so he wanted me to take a couple pictures of his favorite stuffed elephant, which I happily did :)

Then he loosened up for me…and did an awesome job!

A couple of weeks ago I had the awesome opportunity to assist a fellow photographer here in Dallas, Jason with Table 4, and I had a blast shooting with him!  We covered a very laid back, intimate reception, which happened to be the conclusion of 3 previous days of wedding events for Ankita and Danny.  It was really nice too, because everyone was so relaxed and just had a good time.  All of the hard work was over and the families were just enjoying their time together, which made for a lovely (and smooth) reception.  Here are a few of my faves from the night….

The most delicious cupcakes EVER!!!  I heart you sprinkles cupcakes…

There were a lot of kiddos at this reception, so naturally I had a lot of fun trying to photograph them. :)

What are the odds that I would run into (unknowingly) my next door neighbors at a wedding?!?  Apparently pretty good because there they were…isn’t she beautiful?

The bride…

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake…

Ankita’s cousin gave a beautiful (and funny) speech…

See? It was really funny!

He spotted the delicious cupcakes! (i feel ya kid!)

Good times.

Ankita’s henna was nothing short of amazing…sooooooo detailed and so neat.  It was absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks again Jason for letting me tag-along!  I had a great time.

So I have big news: I am an aunt (for the second time)! I have a brand new nephew, Baby J, and he is absolutely precious! I am so excited because now I have a readily available newborn model on hand. ;) We decided to do his newborn photos (at only 5 days old!) last Saturday, and it ended up working out really well. The light was perfect, and I didn’t even have to get out my strobes to do this shoot, so it was all natural lighting which I love! He did so good for me, and loooooved my baby wrap (aka scarf from Old Navy)! I had so much fun with him, and it was nice having a mom that trusted me completely, with all the “different” poses that I wanted to try!  My sister was a  huge help and I think we got some great shots. Here are some of my faves…

These first couple are from his first day home…only 3 days old (and all that hair!)

I love the squishy lips!

You can rest assured that Baby J will become a regular part of my blog now ;)   How could I not…he is so darn cute!
