I have been wanting to do this for a long time, so finally yesterday I broke out my stands and seamless papers and did a quick mini-session with Mr. C. He wasn’t all that excited about it, but he did pretty good for me and got a lollipop in return! ;) Here are just a few quick faves from our session!

This was his “are we done YET?” look….haha. DSC_3461

So lately I have really been feeling like I have gotten away from taking as many images of our everyday life here at home, and realize that I really, really miss that.  That was really one of the first reasons I got into photography (which quickly became an all-consuming passion!)…because I wanted to document my boy’s childhoods.  Time passes by so quickly, and they aren’t babies anymore *tear* and I don’t want to forget all of these precious moments that I have with my kids.  I am so grateful to be able to stay at home with them (even though there are times that they make me crazy!) I want to be able to look back 10 yrs from now and remember all of the fun times that I spent with my wonderful boys.  Being a mother has brought so much joy into my life and there is nothing in this world that I would ever trade for it…nothing.  Photography is a means for me to be able to remember all of the silly little things that I am sure I would otherwise forget.  So from here on out I am going to go back to my roots and constantly photograph these silly little guys who love me no matter what, even when I decide not to comb my hair in the morning.  :)

Just a little taste of what our mornings are like…J(my youngest) is patiently waiting for his shower to get hot, so he can rinse off the oatmeal and blueberries he decided to smear on his face, hair and who knows what else.  It constantly amazes me how messy of an eater he is…I always wonder why he even bothers holding a spoon anyways, he eats with his fists instead.  That’s just how he gets down.  His eyes say it all… jace

And here is big brother C…he is “big” now (as he so lovingly tells me several times a day) and is over (kinda but not really) Thomas the Train and all of the hundreds of tracks he has…those are baby brothers now!  He is all into this Lego craze.  I knew he would be, because that’s what kind of kid he is…very hands on, he’s a thinker like his mommy and his grandpapa.  He was super proud of this thing.  It’s an airplane/pirate ship, per Mr. C.  We are going to submit this photo to Lego Club Magazine Jr. to see if they will publish his rad creation in one of their issues.  He is super excited and I couldn’t be happier for him…looking at how big he’s gotten melts my heart.DSC_4448

And a big thank you to Jonas for reminding me to just be me, crazy hair and all. ;)

Last weekend I had an awesome family session with the coolest couple and their ridiculously cute daughter! You might recognize Miss N from an earlier session I did with her and her cousin in the spring, and I think she just got like 10x cuter since then!  Our original plan was to go out to this park in Richardson with a beautiful waterfall, but when I got there it was under construction….boo (and I just didn’t think orange construction tape would too great in family portraits).  Well, we decided to try a nearby park that I had seen on the way, and I have to say I think it worked out sooooo much better!  We had a great time walking the nature trails and just letting Miss N have a good time.  We got started early and the weather was a gorgeous 75°!!  I will definitely be going back to this park….you just can’t beat shaded trails in this TX heat.

So here are just a few of my favorites from this session (it was so hard to narrow it down, there were so many good ones!)…

I just loved this shot of her…I think it’s the chubbs that reminds you she’s still a baby!DSC_7283

DSC_7283I absolutely love this shot…everything about it.  It has to be like in the top ten of my favorite kid pictures.  Oh and just so you know I have been on this moody b&w kick lately…I am really digging this black and white, almost reminds me of film.

I love her look here…like she’s checking back to see if mom and dad are watching while she climbs over this fence!
