I had the honor of photographing the Centra Asia Institute’s Gala that was held last week at the gorgeous Hilton Anatole Dallas. The work that this organization is doing is truly remarkable and Greg Mortenson is an incredibly humble and inspirational man. Here are just a few of my favorites from that night…

A day in the life…Zoo trip! – Ft. Worth, TX Child Photographer

On Friday we took advantage of the beautiful Texas weather and took a trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo. It was absolutely gorgeous and all of the animals seemed to be enjoying the great weather with us! The kids had a great time seeing all the animals, especially the lions. The meercats were also a crowd favorite, and I have to admit that they are reallly cute. Overall we had a great time, and I ran into several wildlife photographers! I was definitely guilty of “lens envy” because they had some amazing equipment! Here are just a few (of the many) pictures I snapped throughout the day…

A welcome change!

So as I mentioned before I have some exciting news! I took advantage of the new year to change things up around the website…a new name and a new face for the site and the blog. I have really wanted to go with my name for some time now, I have just been waiting for the right time to do it. I am so happy with the new design and so excited with the direction that I hope to take my business this year! So I hope everyone likes the new look…and a huge thanks to Maree for the design!
On another note, I took the boys out this weekend to this awesome park I stumbled across one day last month. They had such a good time and so did I! I have really been wanting to experiment a little more with some sunflare so bear with me! Here are a few shots from our little outing…

oh spring where are you?

Although I really love the cool weather, I am more than looking forward to the spring! For one I have some ~~big~~ huge changes coming about with my business this year *hint* and with the nice weather I will be able to get out and do some shooting (without freezing my tail off!). I am looking forward to so many weddings that I am going to have the privilege to shoot next year, I just can’t wait! I think I am almost as excited as my brides! I was so happy on Saturday, it was like 80° and I was loving it…but then TX weather struck again and it was icy the next day . Oh well, I will take what I can get for now and wait patiently for the spring…

My sons’ great-grandmother is in town right now and we have been trying to keep her busy (not that my boys don’t keep her busy enough!) So on Friday we ventured out and took advantage of the beautiful Dallas weather and went to the Dallas World Aquarium. We had such a good time, the kids really enjoyed the sharks (of course) and the penguins (they sure do stink!) and we even got to see them feed the sharks and the jaguar! And of course my camera was there…snapping away!
